TEDx is promoting the normalization of pedophilia

This is neither normal nor acceptable.

TED which is an organization whose motto is “Ideas Worth Spreading” is allowing independent speakers using the TEDx (x=independent) brand to spread pedophilia.

TED’s about page states,

Our Mission: Spread ideas

TED is a global community, welcoming people from every discipline and culture who seek a deeper understanding of the world. We believe passionately in the power of ideas to change attitudes, lives and, ultimately, the world. On TED.com, we’re building a clearinghouse of free knowledge from the world’s most inspired thinkers — and a community of curious souls to engage with ideas and each other, both online and at TED and TEDx events around the world, all year long.

In fact, everything we do — from our Conferences to our TED Talks to the projects sparked by the TED Prize, from the global TEDx community to the TED-Ed lesson series — is driven by this goal: How can we best spread great ideas?

TED is owned by a nonprofit, nonpartisan foundation. Our agenda is to make great ideas accessible and spark conversation.

For one to hold an independent TED event, they must of course apply and register it and gain permission from TED to use their branding for the talk by applying for a TEDx license. In other words, obviously, an event must have the blessing of TED to be considered an event affiliated with it and to use its logo.

And apparently, an “idea worth spreading” is the acceptability of pedophilia. Below is the TEDx talk in question in which a woman claims that pedophilia is a natural sexual orientation which isn’t chosen.

Of course, “choosing” or not isn’t relevant. Rapists don’t choose to become rapists. Cannibals don’t choose to become so. Schizophrenics don’t choose to think they’re Jesus. People with Body Integrity Identity Disorder don’t choose to want to blind themselves or cut off their legs and arms. Never mind that children are not cognitively mature enough to consent to being penetrated by an adult.

Choice isn’t relevant, and it’s not a psychologically valid standard to qualify a behavior as normal or inborn because a person didn’t choose to feel what they feel. This is unscientific and is a propaganda ploy to win sympathy.

Allowing such events logically creates the suspicion that TED founders are sympathetic to pedophilia themselves.

Below is the video of the TEDx event in question, a speech by Mirjam Heine at the University of Wurzburg:

Why wasn’t she booed off the stage? Probably because the event was packed with pedophiles.
