CNN in Denial About Islamic Female Genital Mutlilation

CNN’s Michelle Krupa draws us into the horror of female genital mutilation by opening with a shocking and accurate paragraph:

(CNN)It’s a brutal practice that’s inflicted on thousands of girls and women every year. Female genital mutilation, or female ritual cutting, involves altering or injuring female genital organs. It’s often done by people with no medical training and in filthy places, posing horrendous health risks that can linger for decades. Most victims are told never to talk about it — and some don’t survive to tell their stories. Even as girls and women across the globe faces these risks every day, misconceptions abound. To end the practice, experts and survivors say this practice must be drawn out of the shadows. Here’s what you need to know:

Unfortunately after the “Here’s what you need to know” part, Krupa goes into defend-the-Muslims mode, circles the ideological wagons, and completely misinforms her readers on who performs the practice and why.

Like so many clueless apologists for the Islamic faith and objectionable behaviors of its practitioners which are directly related to Sharia, Krupa falsely claims that FGM has no basis in religion. In spite of this, every country her article points out where the practice is prevalent has a heavily Muslim majority and she offers no explanation for this odd occurrence.

Coincidence? You’ll never know unless you study the relevant Islamic teachings on the subject which Krupa seems intent on avoiding like the plague. Examples here include Reliance of the Traveler, a Classical Manual of Islamic Law which states the obligatory cutting of the clitoris. Easy online searches produce fatwas by imams citing the desirability of the cutting of the female, which Muhammad himself taught with easily verifiable references of Sharia Law:

Circumcision is prescribed for both males and females. The correct view is that circumcision is obligatory for males and that it is one of the symbols of Islam, and that circumcision of women is mustahabb but not obligatory.

There are reports in the Sunnah which indicate that circumcision for women is prescribed in Islam. In Madeenah there was a woman who circumcised women and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said to her: “Do not go to the extreme in cutting; that is better for the woman and more liked by the husband.”  Narrated by Abu Dawood (5271), classed as saheeh by Shaykh al-Albaani in Saheeh Abi Dawood.

Female circumcision has not been prescribed for no reason, rather there is wisdom behind it and it brings many benefits.

Mentioning some of these benefits, Dr. Haamid al-Ghawaabi says:

The secretions of the labia minora accumulate in uncircumcised women and turn rancid, so they develop an unpleasant odour which may lead to infections of the vagina or urethra. I have seen many cases of sickness caused by the lack of circumcision.

Circumcision reduces excessive sensitivity of the clitoris which may cause it to increase in size to 3 centimeters when aroused, which is very annoying to the husband, especially at the time of intercourse.

Another benefit of circumcision is that it prevents stimulation of the clitoris which makes it grow large in such a manner that it causes pain.

Circumcision prevents spasms of the clitoris which are a kind of inflammation.

Circumcision reduces excessive sexual desire.

Then Dr al-Ghawaabi refutes those who claim that female circumcision leads to frigidity by noting:

Frigidity has many causes, and this claim is not based on any sound statistics comparing circumcised women with uncircumcised women, except in the case of Pharaonic circumcision which is where the clitoris is excised completely. This does in fact lead to frigidity but it is contrary to the kind of circumcision enjoined by the Prophet of mercy (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) when he said: “Do not destroy” i.e., do not uproot or excise. This alone is evidence that speaks for itself, because medicine at that time knew very little about this sensitive organ (the clitoris) and its nerves.

Does that sound disgusting and backward? You’re right, it is.

Also see WikiIslam for more scholarly Islamic sources in Sharia Law that prove FGM is indeed Islamic.
As this is clearly an Islamic practice, it occurring in the West is also a natural by-product of Islamic mass immigration.

If you don’t like it, you need to reconsider who you let into your country.

Because of Krupa’s intent on ignoring the religious element in this story, she’s insinuating indirectly that Africa is full of backward, genital-mutilating idiots since she only mentioned African countries. In that, it seems, it’s a better alternative to her to trash Africans than it is Islam. Of course that makes sense since insulting African tribesmen doesn’t result in bombings, beheadings, or bullet-riddled journalists.

This is just more myth-making to prop up the lefty Utopian “they’re just like us” narrative that countless white, suburban, socially-isolated and religiously ignorant liberals especially have swallowed as a great truism they picked up from the pages of the latest progressive rag or college lecturer or speech from the latest Democratic political candidate advocating  demolishing our borders because somehow giving our country away to backward cultures that displace US labor is a good thing which must be marketed with gusto because like, white guilt.

Underlying that Utopian corporate globalist fluffy childishness is an unstated stark terror of angering Muslims.

Instead of recognizing things as they are and digging deeper into the causes of this “coincidence” in high percentage Muslim populations that are always cesspools of female genital mutilation by doing research into religious doctrines, our willfully blind friends at CNN invoke the usual liberal “but Christians do it too” defense and claims there’s no religious text that demands FGM when a little research proves otherwise, as shown above.

Crap journalism like this also creates the false impression that a non-religious cultural practice can be changed with education. When it’s enshrined in Islamic Law as FGM is, it means that practitioners are going to resist ceasing it believing they risk going to hell for defying Allah and His Apostle. FGM is enshrined in Islamic Law and as such is a game-changer and should have been one of many red lights to pause and reconsider before Islamic immigration was allowed into the West, and Islam is a religion with more red lights than a red light district.

Reckless immigration policy alone is causing this problem.

Intellectual laziness on the part of CNN or intent to mislead the reader on a hot-button topic by omission of relevant facts? Perhaps CNN did the research and didn’t like what it found? If that were the case, CNN shouldn’t have reported on this at all as it beats misleading millions.

Countries listed with most FGM in this CNN article are:

Sierra Leone: 78% Muslim population

Djibouti: 94% Muslim

Guinea: 85% Muslim

Somalia: 99.8% Muslim

CNN would have been much more honest to research both religions cited in this article and compare the rate of reports of stateside female genital mutilation to immigration trends as well as report on the demographics of those charged with these crimes, such as the Muslim doctor in Detroit who is currently trying to hide behind religious liberties laws. When pertinent context is ignored and we’re left with a vague reference to “increasing rates,” it’s not only really not news, but it smacks of someone intentionally omitting relevant information as if these increasing rates occur oddly and without cause almost as if a rogue gang of clitoris cutters landed from outer space and fanned out into the community, knives in hand.

“Increasing rates”? Of course, non-stop Islamic immigration and successive generations of US-born Muslims make it inevitable.

The timing of this story makes one wonder if it’s nothing but a means of deflecting negative attention from the Muslim doctor in Michigan arrested for FGM to help keep the immigration spigot flowing. This physician is attempting a religious liberty defense which the Detroit News went out of its way to avoid saying the words Muslim or Islam in preference to the vague name “Dawoodi Bohra” as if it were a religion unto itself rather than a branch of Islam. You have to dig in the article for hints of her faith such as her hijab, mention of a mosque and a small irrelevant quote at the end from a CAIR spokesman who did not say that FGM is un-Islamic.

If this isn’t religiously-motivated, where are the throngs of Christians doing this? They’re in Muslim parts of Michigan, not Christian parts of Oklahoma. In another article, CNN attempted to illustrate “Christians do it too” by citing some African immigrants (more blessings of diversity) and a white American in Minnesota that had it done in the mid 20th century as a medical procedure. An abolished backward early 20th century US medical practice and an a current African immigrant practice that does not come from the teachings of Christianity is not remotely comparable to the religious version enshrined in Islam as either obligatory or preferred depending on your Madhab (Islamic school of thought). Since Christianity doesn’t teach female genital mutilation, it’s entirely possible that the proximity of Muslim populations influenced local Christians into copying some of their customs.

Perhaps next CNN will attempt to offset Islamic beheadings advocated in the Quran itself with a “you did it too” reference to early 20th century long-abolished American frontal lobe lobotomies as treatment for mental illness?

Ideological CYA has no place in professional journalism. CNN is reaching the point to where it’s as reliable and predictable as Pravda. Yet again we see the media playing the part of trying to tell us what to believe rather than presenting an accurate, objective picture of a given issue with as much factual content as possible while stepping back and allowing the viewer to come to his own conclusion.

CNN wants to tell you what to think – and it’s always a progressive New Leftist pro-mass immigration pro-globalist thought – and it does it by deceptive journalism and omission of facts.

In looking at previous articles by Krupa regarding immigration (not counting her brave fact-checking of a Sean Spicer dressing joke), we shouldn’t expect anything other than an information-void bubbly whitewash on the subject. Her one-sided reporting puts her firmly on the side of partisan pro-mass migration cheerleaders as she failed to address the negative side of mass immigration for American workers, the American taxpayer, American demographics, and American culture in toto as if these negatives don’t exist and aren’t worth acknowledging or addressing.

In Krupa’s reporting of the emotional suffering of victims of female genital mutilation, she’s indirectly advocating against Islam and against Islamic immigration and doesn’t even realize it.

As for those who want Islamic immigration into the West, they shouldn’t complain about the barbaric religious practices Muslims bring. It’s like inviting in millions of Nazis and wailing in shocked horror that there’s a sudden rise of anti-Semitic attacks. You asked for it, you got it and with Islam, female genital mutilation is only the beginning.

Enjoy!
